In his new documentary film INSIDE/OUTSIDE, Serdar Somuncu gives an unprecedented insight behind the scenes of Hassias - the legendary stage character Somuncu. The film follows him on the day of his appearance in the Mitsubishi Electric Hall in Düsseldorf in front of 5,000 spectators - his last live appearance before the Corona lockdown. INSIDE/OUTSIDE shows both - exclusive excerpts from the live show in Düsseldorf and extensive behind-the-scenes scenes recordings. In quiet moments backstage, Somuncu reports on his inner life: He talks about his beginnings on stage, how he deals with the topic of fear and about the motivation to form and play the stage character Hassia. Moments later, in stark contrast, you see him on stage in front of his audience as a loud, unabashed GröHaZ - the greatest Hassias of all time. The film makes Hassia's career emotionally tangible by bringing together past and present in a mosaic. The result is an intimate, uncensored insight into the way the polarizing satirist thinks.
