Berlin is groping in the dark

For the past three days, people in southwest Berlin have been celebrating energy-saving days. However, not entirely voluntarily. According to the current state of the investigation, the far-left Vulkan group has successfully introduced Berliners to a few new commemorative days.

What are the cultural elites thinking about? The Berlin-based taz newspaper managed to write about the event as if it were a natural disaster - including concluding advice on stockpiling supplies. If the right-wing alternative camp diagnoses a blind spot here, they're absolutely right.

It must be clearly stated: The Berlin attack was a despicable act of terrorism. Even if it appears to be "only" a property crime, one shouldn't overlook the fact that such acts inevitably involve accepting the possibility of fatalities, for example, if a hospital's emergency generator fails to start in time. We also see that in recent years--largely under the radar of public attention--left-wing terrorist structures have emerged that operate strategically and with a long-term perspective.

Furthermore, it cannot be ruled out that foreign intelligence services are involved. Russia would certainly have sufficient motives for doing so. Against this backdrop, it is surprising that the authorities have not yet conducted any raids on Berlin's far-left scene. This can only mean that the relevant authorities have criminally neglected to investigate the far-left milieu in recent years. At least so far, informants seem to have remained elusive regarding the "Vulkan Group."

Political colorblindness in the fight against terrorism is more damaging to the public than the occasional rude comment on X. Perhaps one should consider The state should refocus its efforts on combating extremism, particularly where it is overt: where vigilante justice is used to enforce political goals through violence.
